Clean Up
FOCP organizes volunteer opportunities to clear litter, rake up debris, remove buckthorn, and spread mulch.
Pollinator Garden
FOCP organized and sponsored the pollinator garden on the northwest corner of the park. The first portion was planted in 2019 and two more installments followed. It is filled with native plants to support pollinators. This project was spearheaded by Judy Mead and is maintained by volunteers.
Tree Planting
As park trees were removed for emerald ash borer disease, FOCP helped fund many replacements to keep the park looking beautiful and increase shade.
Frisbee Golf
In 2024, FOCP organized the installation of two frisbee golf baskets with funding provided by Sprecher Brewing.
Events
Throughout the year, FOCP organizes and sponsors various events to support enjoyment of the park.
Since 2023, FOCP has sponsored Arts and Hops, an art and craft fair in Cooper Park, to coincide with the annual Milwaukee County Parks Traveling Beer Garden. We had over 40 vendors with local goods!
Since 2023, FOCP has also sponsored Make Art MKE, an art and craft fair at neighboring Mount Mary University.
Other events have included playdates, movie nights, and gatherings at the pavilion.
Parking Lot
FOCP continues to advocate for creative, forward-thinking solutions to the parking lot deterioration. Stay tuned and continue to voice your opinion to our County Supervisor.
